Recently, Sichuan Gokin Solar Technology Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Gokin (hereinafter referred to as "Sichuan Gokin solar"), obtained the PAS2060 carbon neutral certification certificate issued by SGS, a world-renowned certification body, becoming Gokin's first "zero-carbon factory"! This achievement marks another major breakthrough for Gokin in promoting the development of the green energy industry, and also sets a new benchmark for the photovoltaic field.
"zero-carbon factory" means a plant that produces greenhouse gas emissions within the greenhouse gas emission accounting boundary within a certain period of time (usually in annual units) and achieves net zero carbon emissions through self-emission reduction and removal by emission reduction projects outside the accounting boundary, or through a corresponding amount of carbon credit offset.
Sichuan Gokin Solar was completed and put into operation in 2022, and has always adhered to the development concept of "green, low-carbon and sustainable" from landing to full production, and actively responded to the national "dual carbon" strategy. In the process of implementing the carbon neutral project in 2023, Sichuan Gokin Solar has taken multiple measures to actively reduce carbon through switching the energy mix, rooftop photovoltaic power generation, introducing advanced production equipment and technology, and carrying out energy saving and consumption reduction projects, reducing carbon emissions by about 470,000 tons.
In addition, Sichuan Gokin Solar also actively promotes the concept of circular economy, and realizes the maximum utilization of resources by means of waste recycling and resource reuse. Driven by this series of effective carbon reduction measures, Sichuan Gokin Solar passed the on-site audit from SGS on February 22 this year, and obtained the PAS2060 carbon neutral certification on March 5.
The Sichuan Gokin Solar won the "zero-carbon factory" certification, not only shows the achievements of Gokin solar sustainable development, but also reflects the company's zero-carbon practice in the energy structure, production process, equipment selection, process management and other dimensions again recognized.
